One day 1st FACE INDIA FILMate Awards held at Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), Mayur Vihar Campus on 11th December 2024, organised by FACE INDIA FOUNDATION FOR ART CULTURE AND EDUCATION TRUST in collaboration with Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), Mayur Vihar Campus.

Event was held under the CHAIR OF THE EVENT,

Dr. Sampurnananda Mishra, Campus Director, DSEU Mayur Vihar and inaugurated by the CHIEF GUEST, Prof. Paramjeet Singh, Eminent Artist, former Principal College of Art, Delhi, former Chairman AIFACS along with GUEST OF HONOR, Shri Rajesh Bahl, Renowned Artist and Art Director, Faculty, National School of Drama, Member AIFACS, GUEST OF HONOR, Shri J. P. Singh, Eminent Painter and Visual Artist, Retired Senior Artist, President House of India, GUEST OF HONOR, Smt. Rekha Bahl, Renowned Creative Director, Guest Faculty, College of Art, Educationist, Editor of Art Life Today and Wildlife Today magazine, Shri Sudhir J. Kumar.

FILMate Awards was Curated & Directed by Virender Kumar, Viren, Chairman, FACE INDIA Foundation for Art Culture & Education, Chief Editor Art Times, Member AIFACS, Advocate Delhi High Court and Event Associate Director, Mrs Monika Angrish, Trustee FACE INDIA FOUNDATION, Guest Faculty, Colleges and Universities NCR, Member, Won Buddhism India

The ceremony featured awards in categories such as Best 3 Film, Best Director, Best Editor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and more. A distinguished panel of industry experts and academic leaders evaluated the entries, ensuring a fair and inspiring competition.

Welcome speech was presented by Dr. Sampurnananda Mishra, Campus Director, DSEU Mayur Vihar and vote of thanks was delivered by Curator Virender Kumar, Viren where he heartly thanked to all the support by DESU staff, faculty, students of all semester, organizing team, participants and special thanks to Hon. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Nagawat ji

Dr. Sampurnananda Mishra, Campus Director, DSEU Mayur Vihar said that this kind of film awards will boost the interest in the students to learn and make short films as per industry standard and students after passing the college may earn for them, he also said this event is first kind of such event he has seen in the educational institute where industry has come on the college level to screen films in the college if a international standard.

“The FACE INDIA 1st FILMate Awards 2024, spearheaded by curator and director Virender Kumar Viren, aims to bridge the gap between academia and the film industry. Highlighting the unique nature of the event, Viren remarked that it sets a precedent by bringing the film industry into an educational institution to showcase films of international standards. He expressed confidence that such initiatives will not only inspire students to create industry-ready short films but also equip them with the skills to establish successful careers post-graduation.”

“At the inaugural FACE INDIA FILMate Awards 2024, chief guest Prof. Paramjeet singh said emphasized the event’s potential to revolutionize student engagement with the film industry. He highlighted that the awards provide a rare platform for students to showcase their talent while learning to produce short films aligned with professional standards. Viren described the initiative as groundbreaking, noting that it is the first time an educational institution has collaborated with the industry to host a film screening event of international caliber. He added that such efforts could pave the way for students to explore lucrative career opportunities after graduation.”

Total 15 Awards presented in the respective category, and this inaugural event showcased the boundless creativity and innovation of aspiring filmmakers from DMD final year students. 11 films have been screened for their short films, which span diverse genres and themes, reflecting their unique perspectives and storytelling abilities. The project thrilled to announce the 1st FILMate Awards 2024, a platform dedicated to recognizing and celebrating exceptional filmmaking talent inside college students. The whole event was live on youtube channel at www.youtube.com/arttimesindia the live event gathered  huge audience and now also available on channel.

The FILMate Awards aimed to provide young filmmakers with an opportunity to shine on a national stage, Encourage the growth of creativity, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial skills in filmmaking, and Foster collaboration among students and industry professionals.
