Show at Bikaner House

The Rupa Bheda art show at Bikaner House witnessed an inspiring gathering of art historians, critics, and art enthusiasts, with esteemed art historian Aman Nath inaugurating the exhibition. The evening was dedicated to abstractionist Neerja Chandna Peters, marking her solo debut in India.

Artist Neerja Chandna Peters’ journey from medicine to abstract art is as extraordinary as her works. A trained physician, Neerja spent over a decade balancing her medical career with her passion for painting before transitioning full-time into the art world. Her unconventional path reflects a transformation from healing others to exploring self-expression and creativity.

Neerja’s art, rooted in introspection and analysis, carries a unique voice shaped by her self-taught practice. Focusing on abstract geometry, she masterfully plays with line, color, and form, creating works that exude a meditative calm. Her inspirations stem from nature, particularly the tranquility of dawn, which fuels her creative process, making her art a personal journey of self-discovery and spiritual exploration.

The event transitioned from monochromatic walls to vibrant color tones, offering an enriching experience of great minds and stimulating discussions. Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Satish Mathew, renowned heart surgeon; heritage photographer Manoj Arora, who launched the catalog on Neerja’s work; as well as Neha Gupta, Poonam Bhatnagar, famed collector Franz Mojzis, Madhvi Vijendra Sharma Arora, and many other noted artists from Delhi. The show was curated by Uma Nair, adding further depth to the evening’s artistic discourse.

Neerja Chandna Peters’ Rupa Bheda was a testament to artistic evolution, abstraction, and the power of transformation through creativity.
