Reviving Roots: Traditional Indian Art Reimagined

Artist Ram Krishna Agrawal is a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, citizen of India, despite being a science graduate, found himself in the fashion trade. As a profession, Ram Krishna Agrawal works in the fashion industry, starting off as a fashion designer and gradually he progressed to different levels. However, his true passion lies in art and painting, which he is entirely self- taught in.

Initially, he began with abstract forms, inspired by the works of Picasso. He also drew inspiration from artists such as Nicholas Roerich, and MF Hussain.

He also creates landscapes. However, over the past a few years, he has shifted his focus to Indian folk and tribal arts such as Madhubani and Gond and doing experiments with these arts. Madhubani and Gond are India’s most renowned traditional/tribal arts and are recognized worldwide.

By modifying these traditional and tribal art forms, he is creating fusion art with his own signature style. He uses watercolors, acrylics, and different pens to blend new ideas and concepts with these traditional art forms. His aim is to promote and showcase the glory of India using updated tools. 

Ram Krishna Agrawal has displayed his works in numerous online and offline platforms and has been honored with several awards and accolades adding feathers to his cap. His art has reached in numerous counties across the globe and viewers has started recognizing his signature art.

Painting serves him as form of therapy, helping him navigate through the frustrations of the world. Creativity has no limitations, and he aspire to be limitless in his artistic endeavors.

As per him, Art serves as a healer, offering mental peace and relaxation. It transcends any religious, caste. or creed barriers and promotes harmony.

Artists have the power to spread peace and love, both of which are essential in society.

India is a country known for its diverse culture and traditions. It possesses a wide range of art techniques and styles, many of which are traditional and famous. He has been exposed to these arts from a young age and they have made a profound impact in his mind.

His journey into painting began with inspiration from his mother, who was an unrecognized artist. Her paintings adorned the walls of his home and served as a great inspiration.  He is most significantly influenced by his my mother Late Mrs. Kiran Agrawal. His father Late Shri Pratap Chandra Agrawal was a great admirer of his art and Ram Krishna Agrawal misses him a lot and says wherever his father is – he must be happier with his achievements and he feels his blessings every day.

However, it is quite tough for him to maintain balance among job, passion and family but according to him, he is now habituated to make balance. Though, he has to work very hard for his art but since he is in love with art so always ready for the challenges. Yes, top of all family support matters a lot and he feels lucky that he always gets from them. His ambition is to take his art to next level where his signature style of Indian fusion art can be recognized globally.

He keeps on experimenting in his art and creating beautiful artworks that attracts all.
