Art is never still. It moves—from one thought to another, from one artist to another, from one generation to the next. PRAVAH celebrates this movement: the continuous flow of ideas, forms, colours, materials and perspectives that keeps art alive. The fourth edition of PRAVAH, curated by Pankaj Nigam, will be held from 4 to 10 September 2026 at AIFACS, New Delhi, bringing together 25 artists working across painting, sculpture and photography.

PRAVAH is conceived not merely as an art exhibition, but as a celebration of the many ways in which art finds expression. It creates a space where artists can come together, share their individual journeys and explore different forms, ideas and perspectives. Over the years, PRAVAH has grown into a larger artistic dialogue, extending beyond the display of artworks through conversations, poetry, music and other creative engagements.

The exhibition will officially open on 5 September at 5:00 PM with a Sitar recital by Srimonto Mazumdar. The show will be inaugurated by eminent painter Shri Paramjeet Singh, former Principal of the College of Art, Delhi, and former Chairman of AIFACS. Eminent painter Shri Prem Singh, former Principal of the College of Art, Chandigarh, and Dr. Ved Prakash Bhardwaj, eminent painter, poet and art critic, will grace the occasion as Guests of Honour.

PRAVAH will also pay tribute to the celebrated poet Shri Kunwar Narayan, marking the centenary of his birth. Through a special presentation and screening, the exhibition will remember a literary voice whose poetry continues to explore human experience, imagination and the quiet depths of existence. Noted painter, author and art critic Shri Ashok Bhowmick will speak on “Art, Poetry and Life Around”, bringing together the worlds of visual art, literature and lived experience.

The 2026 edition carries a special emotional significance as PRAVAH remembers and celebrates the enduring creative presence of Deepankar Roy, whose contribution to photography and the arts continues to remain deeply cherished. A special tribute will be held during the exhibition in memory of the photographer and artist, who passed away on 10 July 2026. His book, STILL HERE, by Deepankar Roy, will also be presented during the exhibition. The exhibition will also feature SAMWAD, a series of conversations where senior participating artists will interact with the audience and share their creative journeys, their experiences and their Art & Way of Seeing.

The conversations aim to open up the personal stories, thoughts and processes behind the artworks and create a meaningful dialogue between artists and art lovers. In NAVPRAVAH, five invited artists who are beginning their artistic journey with PRAVAH will share their thoughts on “Life, Art and Ideas” The event brings fresh voices and perspectives into the conversation, creating a meeting point between experience and new beginnings.

Poetry will take centre stage on 9 September with RACHNA, an evening dedicated to the spoken word. Poetess Anupam Singh and poet Adnan Kafeel Darvesh, important poetic voices of our time, will recite their poetry along with other poets. RACHNA is an integral part of PRAVAH’s belief that art does not exist in isolation—it constantly converses with poetry, music, literature and life. At its core, PRAVAH believes that art is a journey rather than a destination. Every artist brings a different current to this journey, and when these currents meet, something larger begins to flow. PRAVAH 2026 invites audiences to become part of that flow—to look, listen, engage and discover the many possibilities of contemporary art.
